Cremation Options

Many people find the simple dignity of cremation appealing, but hesitate because they are disturbed by the thought of abandoning their loved one to the winds, leaving no evidence of a life that was lived. Psychologists agree that a memorial is a tangible part of the grief process and helps family members accept their loss. To provide for this genuine need, beautiful urn gardens as well as all of our traditional burial areas of the Park are available for permanent individual memorialization.

The Old Town Columbarium is conveniently located in a sheltered area near the rose garden. Created by skilled artisans in Italy, this mosaic masterpiece offers unique innichment for those preferring outdoor niches. This mosaic is composed of a collage of six photographs taken from the "Old Town" area of Albuquerque. Names and dates are permanently inscribed at the bottom of each niche. Families selecting an "Old Town" niche will be utilizing a very historic part of our community. Visitors to this columbarium will find a consoling and peaceful setting adjacent to our rose garden.

The Times and Seasons Columbarium in the Chester T. French Mausoleum is our newest area for cremation-minded families. Made entirely from bronze and glass, this columbarium provides an atmosphere of brevity and elegance for any bronze urn you choose. Bronze-front niches are also available for individual urns made of alternative materials. The "autumn" and "winter" walls are the first walls of four constructed with "spring" and "summer" soon to follow. This comfortable indoor location may be visited during any season of the year.

When there is a preference for scattering cremated remains, families soon discover a real need for a place to memorialize and remember their loved ones. This is now possible in the serene setting of our Rose Garden. For memorialization, the name, date of birth, and date of death can be permanently inscribed on the native travertine monument. Over 50 rose bushes, 8 ornamental trees, benches and paths create a one-of-a-kind opportunity to scatter and commemorate.
